Veterinary pathologist to lead diagnostic lab at UF College of Veterinary Medicine

, a clinical associate professor of , has been named executive director of the .
Dark鈥檚 role previously was as service chief of anatomic pathology. In his new position, he will be responsible for the overall operation and administration of the UF Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory at the . His new duties will also include ensuring lab compliance with the accreditation requirements of the American Association of Veterinary Diagnosticians, as well as facilitating development of new services and methodologies.

A board-certified veterinary pathologist, Dark received his D.V.M. degree from Michigan State University in 2001, and his Ph.D. degree in veterinary microbiology and pathology from Washington State University in 2008. He has been a member of the UFCVM faculty since 2009.
