, a longtime Gainesville resident and veteran advancement professional, has been named senior director of advancement and alumni affairs at the

Boudreau joined the college in 2015 as director of advancement for Maddie鈥檚 Shelter Medicine Program, becoming the first advancement professional in the country hired specifically to raise funds for shelter medicine. Thanks to her efforts, more than $3.5 million has been raised to benefit the and the college鈥檚 .

Previously, Boudreau served for two years as director of development for . Her additional experience includes more than 10 years of work at UF in various capacities 鈥� as patient advocate/community liaison for the Byrne Orphan Disease Lab; as clinical coordinator for the department of vascular surgery; as director of medical alumni affairs and also as associate director of development for the .

She worked as development director for all three of Gainesville鈥檚 Catholic schools and as executive director of Gainesville Harvest.

Boudreau holds a bachelor鈥檚 degree from Michigan State University in social science and has been a Gainesville resident since 1997. She has served as interim director of the veterinary medical college鈥檚 advancement team for six months, following the retirement of Karen Legato from the position last summer.

鈥淥ur advancement team is increasingly critical in helping us meet our college鈥檚 program and fundraising goals on our path toward preeminence in all of our key missions,鈥� said the college鈥檚 dean, 鈥淭he University of Florida recently began its $3 billion Go Greater comprehensive campaign, , the largest fundraising campaign in university history. Katie鈥檚 leadership will be key to our success.鈥�

In her new role, Boudreau will be supervising seven people and focusing on reaching the college鈥檚 $120 million goal for the Go Greater campaign. As part of these efforts, the college鈥檚 advancement office will be garnering support for new technologies and medical discoveries in all areas of veterinary medicine.
