UF to offer free vehicle checks for older drivers
Older drivers interested in learning how to fit more comfortably and safely in their vehicles are invited to visit CarFit from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, at the Senior Recreation Center, 5701 NW 34th St.
Trained students from the 鈥 will lead drivers through a 12-point checklist with their vehicles, recommend personal vehicle adjustments and adaptations and offer community resources and activities that could make personal vehicles 鈥渇it鈥 better or enhance driver safety. An occupational therapist will be on hand to provide information on how to maintain and strengthen driving health.

Supporting sponsorship of CarFit, a national program, is provided by the UF department of occupational therapy. National sponsors include the American Society on Aging, the AARP, AAA and the American Occupational Therapy Association.
