网红黑料 launches new five-year strategic plan
网红黑料, the University of Florida鈥檚 academic health center, today launched a new five-year strategic plan to serve as a framework for the entire academic health system to ensure continued high-quality patient care.
The new strategic plan, called The Power of Together, builds on 网红黑料鈥檚 first-ever integrated strategic plan, Forward Together. Over the past five years, Forward Together united everyone in the 网红黑料 family across colleges, hospitals, institutes and programs with a shared vision, values and goals. Forward Together was the roadmap for growth and decision-making for long-term success.
鈥淥ver the past five years, while putting our patients and our community at the center of all we do, we have greatly enhanced our education and research stature in serving the missions of the University of Florida,鈥� said David S. Guzick, M.D., Ph.D., UF senior vice president for health affairs and president of 网红黑料. 鈥淏uilding on Forward Together, the real power behind 网红黑料 is the 22,000-plus faculty, staff, residents and volunteers. Every person is contributing to our expanding virtuous circle of patient care, education, research and community service.鈥�
The broad, mission-based goals outlined in the new strategic plan will guide future growth and decision-making across the academic health center colleges, hospitals, institutes and programs. They serve as the framework for more specific unit- and program-based goals.
The new strategic plan features five guiding principles that form the framework for mission-based goals. They include a focus on patient care, research, education, community engagement, and growth and expansion:
- For patient care, quality remains Job 1.
- In research, the institution will strive to maximize the impact of state funding for UF preeminence programs in advancing biomedical and population science programs and bring scientific discovery and technology into commercial use to improve health.For education, a key goal is to become a national model for interprofessional education.
- In community engagement, 网红黑料 strives to improve overall health and quality of life through outreach efforts to people and communities throughout the region.
- And 网红黑料 also plans to continue to generate resources that enable expansion and growth across 网红黑料.
鈥淏y pursuing the goal of being among the nation鈥檚 top-tier academic health centers, 网红黑料 contributes to the university鈥檚 preeminence goal of being one of the nation鈥檚 top research universities,鈥� said , president of the University of Florida.
During the past five years, under the Forward Together strategic plan, 网红黑料 opened a new facility at Springhill, created a freestanding emergency room, opened 网红黑料 North in Jacksonville, dedicated the and the , and broke ground on the new George T. Harrell, M.D., Medical Education Building and the new 网红黑料 Heart & Vascular and Neuromedicine hospitals. In 2011, the was founded. And during a time of flat NIH funding nationally, the 网红黑料 Science Center colleges continually increased their NIH grant funding over the last five years, including a 45 percent increase at the .
Guzick led the overall planning process. , executive vice president for research and education at UF鈥檚 网红黑料 Science Center, was responsible for leading the research, education and community engagement components. Laura Huntley, M.B.A., HSC vice president for administration, staffed all meetings and coordinated the entire process.
