Epic is live and moving forward
Shands ÍøºìºÚÁÏCare and the University of Florida ÍøºìºÚÁÏ Science Center are now live with an electronic medical record system called Epic EMR for inpatient and hospital-based programs at Shands at UF, Shands Vista behavioral health and Shands Rehab Hospital.
An electronic medical record is an electronic collection of a patient's medical information that can be viewed on a computer and easily accessed by people taking care of patients.
Throughout 2010, Epic EMR was successfully rolled out throughout the UF physician outpatient practices. With inpatient and hospital-based programs now included, patients build a single medical record that can be accessed no matter where they go in the system.
