UF College of Nursing faculty honored as a ‘Great 100’ nurse

A University of Florida College of Nursing faculty member will be among those recognized as the 2005 Great 100 Nurses of Northeast Florida.

Rosalyn Reischman, D.S.N., A.R.N.P., a clinical assistant professor on the ÍøºìºÚÁÏ Science Center’s Jacksonville campus, will be honored at a ceremony held during National Nurses Week, May 6-12, in Jacksonville.

The Great 100 Nurses of Northeast Florida Inc. is a volunteer group of professional nurses that provides funding for nursing scholarships, supports research studies to improve patient care and recognizes outstanding nurses and their successes.

Great 100 Nurses of Northeast Florida honorees are selected based on their professional contributions and how well these contributions are known and recognized in the community.

Reischman has been a UF nursing faculty member since 1999 and is a certified adult nurse practitioner and critical care nurse. She has authored various publications and given national and local presentations on critical care topics, especially related to cardiovascular and respiratory conditions. She is the Jacksonville clinical coordinator of the college’s acute care nurse practitioner master’s degree track. She is a member of the Florida Nurses Association, the Association of Critical Care Nurses and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Mirroring similar programs in other states, the Great 100 Nurses of Northeast Florida Inc. evolved from District II of the Florida Nurses Association’s annual Nurse Awards Day. The program’s success and the participation of many nurses in Northeast Florida led the planning group to incorporate into the larger entity.
