Focus
My research interrogates the intricate mechanisms of psychiatric intervention, with a focus on the precise parameters of electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and deep brain stimulation (DBS) in treating complex cases. This includes device parameter settings, novel approaches to challenging conditions—such as meningiomas with mass effect, status epilepticus, and the intersection of ECT with DBS—and underreported phenomena, like the rise in DBS impedance (as seen in macrophage encapsulation) during ECT. In parallel, I guide students in writing case reports and conducting scoping reviews, emphasizing the synthesis of clinical data. Through this work, we refine technical precision, uncover overlooked complexities in neuromodulation, and expand the empirical foundations that drive the next generation of psychiatric innovation.
