She received her bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from the UF College of Journalism and Communications in 1987 and worked for several years in Jacksonville, Fla., after graduation before returning to Gainesville in 1990. She worked for LifeSouth Community Blood Centers for 16 years as the Director of Corporate Affairs before joining the college in 2008.
